Athletics is a sport which has grown in popularity over recent years. More people are interested in athletics than ever before because of the benefits it has on health fitness and social interaction.

 

The sports that are played today have evolved from their ancestors from a combination of different games such as football, soccer and rugby. There are many benefits that can be gained from athletics, it gives people a chance to socialise, exercise and sharpen their motor skills in many different areas. Children can learn about teamwork, leadership and fitness which will help them in the future.

Many adults and teenagers have taken to playing more extreme sport such as skateboarding, rollerblading and BMXing. These involve riding boards with wheels attached to them which can be either down a hill or round an area with obstacles in it.
